Luxy Vinyl Plank Flooring Installed Across Five Rooms

Floors are one of those things that quietly affect how the whole house feels. Worn-out carpet or dated linoleum can make even a well-kept home look tired. That's exactly the kind of problem this job solved - and it hit five rooms at once. We installed Luxy vinyl plank flooring through the living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, and an additional room. That's a lot of ground to cover. The underlayment went down first across each space, taped tight and prepped properly before a single plank got laid. Getting that base right is what keeps the floor from shifting, squeaking, or buckling later on. The plank pattern flows continuously from room to room, which is one of the biggest visual wins with a whole-home LVP install. No jarring transitions between spaces, just one clean look that pulls the entire main level together. We handled all the transitions between rooms and different floor surfaces - the customer took care of the quarter round at the walls, which is a smart way to split the labor and keep costs manageable. What surprised some people is how fast it came together. Start to finish, including all transitions, we were done in under three days. Vinyl plank is one of the most efficient flooring options for occupied homes - minimal disruption, no drying time, and you're back to normal life almost immediately. That matters when you've got a full house. This is the kind of remodel work we do regularly. Flooring upgrades like this fall squarely in our general contracting wheelhouse, and they deliver some of the best return on investment of any home improvement project. Clean product, solid execution, and a finished result that genuinely changes how the home feels.

Bow Window Replaced with a Bold New Bay Window Setup

The old bow window had to go. It was dated, it wasn't sealing the way it should, and honestly, it just didn't do the home any favors from the outside. So we pulled it out completely and started fresh - new framing, new layout, and a whole new look. With the window out, we rebuilt the framing from scratch. That's a big part of what makes this kind of job more than just a window swap. When you're changing the window type entirely, the structural opening has to be right. We squared everything up, sheathed it properly, and got it ready to hold the new bay window the way it should be held. No shortcuts on the rough opening. The new setup is a bay window with a large picture window in the center flanked by two side windows - a clean, modern look that opens up the front of the house. We used Andersen windows throughout the whole project, and the black frames against the fresh trim tie everything together. While we were at it, we updated the kitchen window and the back windows too, wrapping each one with new siding and trim to match. What you end up with isn't just a better-looking house. It's a tighter envelope. New flashing, house wrap done right, and properly sealed openings mean less air movement and better energy performance. That matters every month on the utility bill - not just on the day the job is done. This is the kind of work that looks simple from the street but has a lot going on behind it. Framing repairs, siding work, window installation - it all has to work together. That's what general contracting is really about. Getting every trade lined up so the finished product looks and performs like it should.

Garage Repair Done Right - Board-Up to New Framing

When a garage takes serious damage, the first priority is securing the opening fast. That's exactly where we started - boarding up the entire garage door opening to keep the structure protected while we figured out the full scope of what needed to come out and what needed to go back in. No shortcuts, no guesswork. Here's what we were actually dealing with: damaged framing and masonry that had to go. We stripped it all back to what was solid, including removing compromised brick and wall sections on the corner. You can see the exposed foundation and block work at that side column - that's where the new build had to start, from the ground up. Once the old material was cleared, we set new framing on the fresh foundation. Pressure-treated lumber at the base, properly spaced studs throughout, and everything squared up tight. We also applied house wrap to the framing on that corner column before any finishing work went on - that's the kind of detail that protects the structure long after the crew is gone. With the new framing fully in place and sheathed with OSB, the opening is now prepped and ready for the new garage door installation. The wall is solid, the framing is clean, and the corner that took the worst of the damage has been rebuilt with new block and proper moisture management. That's the difference between a patch job and an actual repair. Jobs like this one hit every part of what we do - emergency board-up to secure the site, full framing and structural repairs to get it back to square, and the kind of systematic progress that means nothing gets missed. It's not always pretty in the middle, but the end result speaks for itself.

Wind-Damaged Fence Repair Done Right - New Posts, Rails and Pickets

Wind can do a number on a fence fast. One snapped post is all it takes - and suddenly you've got panels leaning, rails pulling away from the posts, and a gate that won't function at all. That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The damage gave way to a full run of panels that had completely lost their footing. Here's what we were working with: old weathered pickets that had been hanging on for years, posts that had given up, and fence sections flat on the ground. Rather than patch over a fence that was already at the end of its life, we stripped it all the way down. Old pickets and rails came off, and we got to work setting two new 4x4 posts to anchor everything properly. From there, we installed fresh rails and new pickets across the full run. The difference between old and new lumber is hard to miss - pressure-treated wood ready to handle whatever the weather throws at it, versus the gray, dried-out boards that had been there for years. We also dialed in the gate so it swings clean without dragging on the grass. That's a detail a lot of people overlook, but a gate that binds or catches is just damage waiting to happen again. What we ended up with is a fence that's structurally sound from the posts up. No shortcuts, no half-measures. When we do fence repair, we're thinking about what holds up over time - not just what looks fine today. The new wood will weather in and blend naturally, and the bones underneath are solid. Wind damage like this is more common than most homeowners expect, especially after a strong storm rolls through. If you've got a section that's leaning, posts that feel soft at the base, or panels that took a hit, it's worth getting eyes on it before the whole run goes. Catching it early is always cheaper than waiting.

Emergency Board-Up After Severe House Fire Guts Back Deck and Framing

When a fire tears through a home like this, the clock doesn't stop once the flames are out. The structure is exposed. Belongings are vulnerable. And anyone walking through an unsecured fire-damaged property - whether that's a curious passerby or someone looking to take advantage of the situation - is at serious risk of injury. That's exactly why emergency board-up services exist. We got the call and responded fast. The fire had done heavy damage to the back deck and the house framing behind it. Exterior walls were open. The roof line was compromised over a large section of the rear of the home. Before any restoration work can even begin, a property like this needs to be secured - and that's step one. Our crew used plywood sheeting to board up the open wall sections and house wrap to cover the exposed framing and roof areas. It's not the final fix - it's the protection that makes the final fix possible. Boarding up keeps weather out, keeps trespassers out, and keeps the restoration path moving forward without the damage getting worse in the meantime. The family made it out safely, and that's what matters most. But once everyone is out of harm's way, the next concern becomes the home itself. An unsecured fire-damaged structure deteriorates fast - rain, wind, and unauthorized entry can turn a bad situation into a total loss. Getting a professional crew on-site quickly is one of the most important decisions a homeowner can make after a fire. This is what fire damage restoration looks like at the very beginning - not the clean finished product, but the critical first response that sets everything else up. Our team handles this entire process, from emergency board-up and securing the property all the way through full fire restoration. It's hard work, but it's exactly what we're here for.

Full Fence Replacement with New Gates on Both Sides of Detached Garage

Old fences don't just look bad - they stop working. Boards warp, posts rot at the base, and gates start dragging or won't latch at all. When that happens, patching things together only buys you so much time before you're dealing with the same problems again. A full replacement is usually the smarter move. Here's what we were working with: a backyard that needed more privacy and a functional setup around a detached garage. The homeowner needed access on both sides, so we installed gates on each side of the garage - not just one. That detail matters a lot when you're hauling equipment, taking out trash, or just moving between the front and back of the property without going through the house. We used pressure treated lumber throughout, which is the right call for any fence that's going to be in contact with the ground or exposed to weather year after year. The Z-brace framing on the gate panels is built to handle the weight and keep everything square over time - gates that sag or bind are almost always the result of cutting corners on the internal structure. We didn't do that here. The finished fence runs clean all the way around the backyard, with a consistent dog-ear board profile and solid post placement. Both gates swing freely and latch properly. That's the baseline - but it's also something a lot of fence jobs miss. Getting the posts set right and the hardware installed correctly makes all the difference between a gate that works great for years and one that's a headache by next summer.

Storm-Damaged Backyard Fence Torn Down and Rebuilt From Scratch

A tornado doesn't leave a lot behind. When this backyard fence took a direct hit from the April 2024 storm, it wasn't a matter of patching a few boards - the whole thing was done. Posts snapped, footings compromised, sections flattened. Before we could build anything new, we had to deal with what was left. We started by pulling out every broken post and digging out the old footings. That part matters more than people realize. Leaving a damaged footing in the ground and trying to build on top of it is just asking for problems down the road. We cleared everything down to solid ground before a single new post went in. From there, we framed the whole run - new posts, new rails, the full structure. You can see in the mid-build shots how clean the framing came together before the pickets ever went on. That bone structure is what determines whether a fence stands straight and square for years, or starts leaning and sagging after the first hard winter. Once the frame was set, we ran the pickets all the way around the yard - tight, consistent, and level from the house to each corner. The finished fence gives this homeowner back what the storm took: a fully enclosed yard with real privacy and solid security on every side. Storm damage puts homeowners in a tough spot. The old fence is gone, the yard is exposed, and figuring out next steps takes time. We handle the whole process - demo, footing removal, and a complete new build - so you end up with something that's actually built to last, not just patched back together.

Storm-Damaged Fence Rebuilt With Shadowbox Style Wood Fence

When a tornado tears through a neighborhood, fences are usually the first thing to go. That's exactly what happened here - the original fence was wiped out, and this homeowner needed a full rebuild from the ground up. New posts, new rails, new pickets. Everything. We went with a shadowbox style for this one. It's a smart choice for a backyard like this. The alternating picket layout means you get solid privacy from most angles while still allowing a little airflow through the fence. It also looks great from both sides, which matters in a neighborhood where your neighbors are just as close as your own yard. What you're looking at is a complete fence installation - not a patch job, not a repair. The framing went in first, posts set and rails run the full length of the yard. Then the pickets were attached in the shadowbox pattern, alternating front and back along each rail. The result is a clean, consistent look all the way around the perimeter. Storm damage repairs are one of those jobs that can feel overwhelming when you're standing in your backyard looking at what's left. The good news is that a rebuild like this is a chance to end up with something better than what you had before. Better materials, better style, better security. That's exactly what happened here. This is the kind of fence work we do regularly - full installs, storm rebuilds, custom styles. A well-built wood fence adds real value to a property and gives you back the backyard you actually want to use.

Cantilever Balcony Rebuilt After Vehicle Impact Damage

A vehicle hit this cantilever balcony and knocked it completely out of commission. That's not a simple fix. You're not patching a few boards - you're dealing with a structural failure on an occupied building, which means the work has to be done right and it has to meet code. Here's what that actually looked like. We opened up the lower unit ceiling to access the floor system, then tied new framing directly into the existing structure. That's the part most people don't see - the interior framing work that makes the whole thing safe and solid before a single piece of exterior lumber goes on. Getting that connection right is what separates a proper structural repair from a patch job. Once the framing was set and inspected, we rebuilt the balcony from the ground up using Cedartone lumber to match the other balconies on the building. That detail matters more than people realize. On a multi-unit building, consistency is everything - a mismatched replacement would stick out immediately. The new balcony blends right in with the rest. This kind of job sits right at the intersection of our framing and structural repair work and our exterior structure capabilities. It's not just a deck build and it's not just a framing repair - it's both, and you need a crew that's comfortable working in that space. Structural damage on an exterior structure tied into a living unit doesn't leave room for guesswork.

Rotted Deck Torn Out and Rebuilt From the Ground Up

Some decks just can't be saved with a few boards and a coat of stain. This one had reached the point where it wasn't a deck anymore - it was a liability. The rim joist where the structure connected to the house had rotted completely through, the framing was compromised, and the whole thing was essentially held together by habit. When we got into it, the right call was clear: tear it all out and start fresh. That's exactly what we did. We demo'd the entire structure down to nothing, then dug and poured new concrete footings to give everything a proper foundation. From there we built up a new frame, laid fresh pressure-treated decking, and finished it off with new posts and upgraded metal baluster railing. Every piece of this deck is new. Nothing was patched over or ignored. One thing we want to point out - that rim joist repair mattered a lot. A rotted rim joist means the deck is pulling away from the house, or worse, it's held in place by fasteners driven into wood that has the structural integrity of wet cardboard. We cut out the damaged section and replaced it before framing anything else. That step alone is what makes the rest of the build actually safe. The stair rebuild was handled the same way. New stringers, new treads, new railing with black metal balusters running the full length on both sides. The stairs on a raised deck like this take a beating - they're the first thing people grab when the footing is off or when ice hits. Getting them right isn't optional, it's the whole point. What this family ended up with is a backyard space they can actually use without wondering if the boards under their feet are solid. That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every deck build - no shortcuts, no hiding problems, just solid work that's built to last and up to code.

Fire-Damaged Deck Rebuilt with TimberTech Composite Decking

Fire damage doesn't just destroy materials - it wipes out the space where a family actually lives outdoors. That's exactly what happened here. The old deck was gone, and so was the backyard gathering spot this family relied on. Our job wasn't just to rebuild a deck. It was to give them something better than what they lost. We started from scratch - framing, structure, everything. You can see the pressure-treated skeleton going up board by board, the stair stringers cut clean and true, the whole thing built to carry real weight for the long haul. Once the bones were solid, we moved into the TimberTech composite decking. Two different tones across the space, composite railing in a deep brown, composite fascia wrapping the edges, and LED lighting cut into every stair riser. Here's why composite matters on a rebuild like this. Wood decks need annual sealing or staining, they splinter, they gray out, and they're far more vulnerable to fire and moisture damage over time. TimberTech is engineered to hold up - no painting, no sealing, no rot. For a family that just went through losing their deck to fire, that kind of durability isn't a luxury. It's peace of mind. The LED stair lighting is one of those details that sounds small but changes how you actually use the space. Evening cookouts, kids running in after dark, guests heading down to the yard - the stairs are visible and safe without any extra fixtures or wiring headaches. It's built into the structure, not bolted on as an afterthought. We wish we had better final photos of this one. But what mattered most was what we handed back to this family - a deck that's stronger, cleaner, and built to last decades without the maintenance headaches of the original. That's the whole point of a rebuild done right.

Back Door Stair Rebuild with New Cedar Decking and Risers

The old stairs were done. Cracked, weathered, and soft in spots - the kind of steps you stop trusting without even realizing it. A lot of contractors would have quoted a full tear-down and rebuild. We stripped the decking back first to see what we were actually working with. Here's what we found - the underlying framing was still structurally sound. Good bones. So we kept what made sense, reinforced the substructure with additional support where we wanted to see it, and moved forward from there. No reason to rip out solid work just to run up the bill. From there, it was all fresh cedar - new decking on the landing platform and new risers on every step. Cedar is a great choice for exterior stairs. It holds up well to moisture and foot traffic, and it looks sharp right out of the gate. The fit and finish on a project like this matters too, because sloppy cuts show up fast on a staircase. What you end up with is a set of steps that's safe, tight, and clean-looking. No flex, no soft spots, no sketchy edges. Just solid exterior work done the right way. This is the kind of handyman and exterior carpentry job we do regularly - whether it's stairs, decking, or other structural fixes around the outside of your home.

Box-Frame Stair Build with Westbury Aluminum Railing

Most stair builds are pretty straightforward - get from point A to point B and call it a day. This one was different. The goal here was to design something that felt intentional, like it belonged with the rest of the space rather than just being tacked on as an afterthought. We started from scratch with a solid pressure-treated box-frame substructure. That box-frame approach is what gives the stairs their wide, open look and creates a clean base for the composite capping to sit against. Wide treads make a big difference in how the stairs feel to walk on - more comfortable, more welcoming, and honestly just more substantial. The composite wrapping on the risers and treads is where the detail work really shows. That gray-toned decking material paired with the dark charcoal border pieces creates a sharp two-tone contrast that echoes the patio and retaining wall below. Nothing was picked randomly - the color palette was coordinated across the whole outdoor space so everything reads as one cohesive design. We also had electrical to deal with. Rather than leaving conduit exposed or routing it somewhere messy, we tucked it neatly through the side of the stair structure with a clean sweep to the wall. It's one of those things most people won't notice - which is exactly the point. The Westbury aluminum railing finished everything off. It's a commercial-grade product that holds up well and gives the stairs a sleek, modern profile without feeling heavy. Details like these are what separate a good stair build from a great one. The framing, the color coordination, the electrical routing, the railing choice - every piece of it matters. When it all comes together, the stairs stop being just a way to get off the patio and start being part of what makes the whole backyard look sharp.

Composite Stair Build with Westbury Aluminum Railing on a Front Entry

The front entry is the first thing anyone sees when they walk up to your home. When the stairs are worn out or just plain ugly, it drags the whole look down - no matter how nice the rest of the house is. That's exactly the kind of problem we were brought in to fix here. We started from the ground up - framing out a solid pressure-treated substructure, leveling everything carefully before a single piece of composite went down. The picture-framed treads and risers are the detail that really sets this one apart. That black border wrapping each tread gives the whole staircase a finished, intentional look that you just don't get with a standard build. Composite means no rotting, no painting, no annual maintenance headaches either. For the railing, we went with Westbury aluminum. It's a clean, sturdy system that holds up in the elements without rusting or fading. We ran it along the entry stairs and then carried a matching section down by the sidewalk so the whole approach to the house reads as one cohesive setup - not two separate things that happen to be near each other. That kind of continuity matters. The result is a front entry that looks like it belongs on the house. Sharp, low maintenance, and built to handle years of use without any issues. This is the kind of work we do regularly as part of our exterior structures and general contracting services - it's never just about function, it's about making the whole front of the home look like someone actually cared.

Pergola Slat Replacement and Frame Reinforcement Done Right

A lot of homeowners look at a worn-out pergola and assume the only option is to tear it down and start over. That's not always the case. If the posts and main frame are still structurally sound, you can save a significant amount of money by replacing just what's failing - in this case, the slats. Here's what we were working with: a large attached pergola with heavily weathered, darkened slats that had seen better days. The frame itself was solid. The bones were good. So rather than demo the whole thing, we stripped off every old slat and got a clear look at what we had to work with before moving forward. We replaced the full run of roof slats with fresh lumber, keeping consistent spacing across the entire span. While we were at it, we reinforced the frame to make sure everything was tight and ready to hold up long-term. That kind of work - the stuff you don't necessarily see - is what determines how long a structure like this actually lasts. The finished pergola sits cleanly over the patio, gives the backyard real shade coverage, and looks like it belongs there. No sagging. No gaps where old wood rotted out. Just a clean, refreshed structure that's ready for years of use. That's the value of knowing when to repair versus when to replace - and doing the repair the right way.

Unfinished Basement Turned Into a Legal Bedroom - Start to Finish

A lot of homeowners sit on an unfinished basement for years. It's not that they don't want the space - it's that finishing it feels overwhelming. Permits, egress windows, framing, electrical, HVAC. Most people don't even know where to start, let alone who to call. That's exactly the kind of job we love taking on. On this one, we handled everything. We started with the layout - spray-chalking the floor to map out the room dimensions and wall placement before a single stud went up. From there, we framed the walls, installed insulation and vapor barrier along the foundation, and cut in the egress window with a proper well outside. That window isn't just for light - it's what makes the room legally qualify as a bedroom. Once framing was done, we moved into drywall, taping, and mudding. Then paint, trim, and the finished door. Electrical was roughed in during framing and tied into the panel. HVAC got extended into the space so it heats and cools like the rest of the house. The carpet went in last, and by the time the homeowner moved in, it was ready to use. What we ended up with is a finished basement bedroom that's up to code, comfortable, and actually adds value to the home. No storage-room feel, no exposed concrete, no bare studs. Just a clean, finished room. The kind of result you get when one crew handles the whole thing instead of juggling four different subcontractors. If your basement is sitting unfinished and you've been thinking about converting part of it into a bedroom - or even just livable space - this is the kind of work we do. Every trade, one team, one project from start to finish.

Adding an Egress Window to Create a Code-Compliant Basement Bedroom

A lot of basements have the square footage to be a real bedroom - they just don't have the window to make it legal. That's where an egress window comes in. Building code requires any bedroom to have a window large enough to serve as an emergency exit, and most standard basement windows don't come close to meeting that requirement. So if you want to count that room as a bedroom, you have to start from scratch and cut a proper opening. That's exactly what we did here as part of a larger basement finishing project. From the outside, it starts with excavation - we brought in a mini excavator to dig out the area along the foundation wall where the window would go. Once we had the opening exposed, we cut through the concrete foundation wall from the inside using a concrete saw. It's loud, dusty, and requires careful framing work around the new opening to make sure everything stays structurally solid. This is the part that separates a real egress install from a sloppy one. After the wall was cut and framed, we set the window and installed the window well on the exterior. The well gets backfilled with gravel at the bottom - that's not just for looks, it's for drainage. Water needs somewhere to go, and without proper gravel drainage in the well, you end up with a window that leaks every time it rains. Getting that detail right matters. The finished result does three things at once. It makes the space code-compliant as a bedroom, which has a direct impact on how the home is appraised and listed if it's ever sold. It brings in natural light, which completely changes how a finished basement feels. And it gives anyone sleeping down there a safe way out in an emergency. That last one isn't just about code - it actually matters. This kind of work is a natural part of a full basement finishing project, and it's one of the smarter investments you can make in your home. The framing, the structural work, the excavation - we handle all of it in one scope so nothing gets missed and the end result is done right.

Vehicle Impact Brick Wall Damage Secured Fast in Omaha

Vehicle impacts into buildings happen more often around Omaha than most people realize. It's not just fires or major storms that leave a structure exposed - one wrong turn in a parking lot or a loss of control on an icy road can punch straight through a brick wall and leave a building wide open. When that happens, fast response is everything. Here's what we were working with on this one. The impact blew out a significant section of brick at the base of the wall, scattered debris across the ground, and sent cracks running several feet up the face of the building. The wall had a gap wide open to the elements, and loose brick sections above the impact zone were at real risk of coming down. That's a safety hazard for anyone nearby, and an invitation for weather and moisture to get inside the structure. Our first priority is always the same - make it safe and close it up. We cleared the loose material, assessed what was structurally unstable, and got the opening boarded up tight. The board-up isn't a cosmetic fix. It's a protective barrier that keeps the interior dry and secure while the structural repair planning gets underway. In situations like this, that step matters a lot. What's easy to miss from the outside is how much movement a single impact can cause in a brick wall. The cracks you see spreading outward aren't just surface-level. They tell you the wall took a serious load it wasn't designed for. That's why our framing and structural repair work goes beyond patching bricks - we're looking at what happened to the structure behind the face of the wall too. If your property takes a hit like this in the Omaha area, the worst thing you can do is wait. An unsecured opening grows into a bigger, more expensive problem fast. We respond quickly, handle the board-up, and walk you through what comes next for the full repair.

Custom Door Install for a Non-Standard Garage-to-Kitchen Opening

Most doors come in standard sizes. Most older homes don't. When you're dealing with a garage-to-kitchen opening cut through a poured concrete foundation wall, you can't just grab a door off the shelf and call it a day. That's exactly the kind of situation we run into more than you'd think. For this one, we had a solid wood door custom ordered to fit the opening, then trimmed it down to get the fit right. The jamb and casing were fitted out to work cleanly against the poured foundation - which isn't as simple as framing into drywall. Concrete doesn't forgive sloppy work. You have to account for the irregularities in the foundation and make the finished product look intentional, not patched together. That's really where this type of work lives - in the details that most people don't notice until they're done wrong. Getting the trim to sit flush against a concrete wall, hanging the door so it swings and latches cleanly, making sure the threshold is solid underfoot. All of it matters. This is the kind of job that crosses into both handyman services and framing work. You need to know what you're doing structurally, but you also need the finish sense to make it look right when you're done. We handle both sides of that. If you've got an odd opening somewhere in your home - whether it's an old addition, a converted space, or something built before standard sizing was the norm - it's worth having someone look at it who actually knows how to work around those conditions rather than forcing a standard solution into a non-standard spot.

Full Bathroom Remodel Done Right Down to the Studs

Most bathroom updates are just surface work - new paint, maybe a new faucet. This one was different. We stripped everything back to the original lath and framing, and what we found gave us a clean slate to do this job the right way from the ground up. Once the walls were open, we upgraded the insulation and installed GoBoard waterproof backer throughout the shower surround. GoBoard is a rigid foam tile backer that won't absorb moisture - which is exactly what you want behind tile in a wet area. No fiber cement, no drywall, no shortcuts. From there, we laid the subway tile, built two recessed shower nooks directly into the framing, and coordinated all the plumbing upgrades while everything was still exposed and accessible. That's the smart window - you don't want to be cutting walls open twice. The floor got a full replacement with new LVT, and you can see the patterned tile accent pieces being dry-fit during layout. Getting that right before anything is set in mortar saves a lot of headaches. The vanity went in with a marble-look top, new trim was installed, and all new fixtures were set. The tub was still in solid condition, so we protected it throughout the entire job and kept it in place rather than pulling something that didn't need to go. What this job really shows is what a bathroom remodel looks like when it's done as a true remodel - not a cosmetic patch. Opening the walls, addressing what's behind them, and building back with the right materials at every layer. That's what holds up long-term. A lot of contractors will tile right over old greenboard or skip the framing inspection entirely. We don't work that way. Whether it's a bathroom remodel, a structural repair, or a full addition, the work we can't see matters just as much as the work we can.

Bathroom Remodel Finish-Out With New Shower Surround and Vanity

Sometimes a homeowner gets partway through a bathroom gut and just needs someone to carry it across the finish line. That's exactly what happened here. The demo was already done when we showed up - so we got straight to work on everything that comes after. We opened up the space, hung moisture-resistant drywall, and got the new shower surround set. That part matters more than people realize. Bathrooms are one of the highest-moisture environments in any home, and using the right materials behind the walls is what keeps problems from showing up a few years down the road. It's not glamorous work, but it's the kind of thing that separates a remodel that holds up from one that doesn't. On the vanity side, we installed the new cabinet, dropped in the countertop, and got the mirror and trim squared away. The contrast between the dark cabinet base and the white countertop gives the space a clean, sharp look - a big step up from what was there before. We also made sure proper ventilation was in place above the tub area, which is something that often gets overlooked on bathroom remodels. Throughout the job, we had a zipper dust barrier sealing off the work zone from the rest of the house. That's standard practice for us on any interior remodel - it keeps construction dust out of the living space and makes cleanup a whole lot easier when the job wraps up. The homeowner was still living in the house, so that kind of protection made a real difference. Not every remodel needs to start from zero for us to add real value. Whether you're mid-project and need a skilled crew to finish the work, or you're just getting started on a bathroom update, we handle all of it - demo, drywall, fixtures, trim, and everything in between.

Full Bathroom Tear-Out and Rebuild on an Older Home

Older homes don't always show you their problems right away. The tile looked rough on the surface - cracked grout, failing joints - but the real issue was behind the walls. Water had been getting in for a while, and once we pulled everything off, we could see exactly what we were dealing with: original wood lath that had taken on moisture damage behind the surround. That's the kind of thing a fresh re-grout won't fix. We did a full tear-out. Every bit of old tile and damaged wall material came out so we could start clean. The tub was in good shape, so we protected it throughout the job and kept it in place - no reason to replace something that doesn't need it. Once the walls were stripped back, we rebuilt them the right way using GoBoard waterproof tile backer on all three surround walls. That material is built for wet areas and gives the new tile a solid, moisture-resistant surface to bond to. From there, the rest of the bathroom followed. New flooring went down, fresh tile went up in the surround, new fixtures were installed, and the walls got a new coat of paint. The old pedestal sink got swapped out for a vanity - better storage, cleaner look. New lighting went in above the mirror too. The finished space feels completely different from what we started with. This is the kind of work we do a lot of - bathroom remodels where the visible problem turns out to be covering up a bigger one underneath. It takes more time to do it right, but cutting corners on water damage just moves the problem forward. We handle everything from the demo all the way through to the finished product, so you're not coordinating between multiple contractors or wondering who's responsible for what. One crew, start to finish.

Full Structural Repair and Board-Up After Home Takes a Hard Hit

When a home takes a serious hit - whether from a vehicle strike, storm, or sudden structural failure - the first priority is securing it fast. That's exactly where we started here. We got OSB board-up panels in place across the damaged front wall and door opening right away, keeping the home protected while we worked through the full scope of what needed to happen next. Here's what we were working with inside: framing that was compromised, old sheathing torn away, and a wall section that was essentially open to the outside. This wasn't a patch job. We stripped out everything that was damaged, got down to the studs, and rebuilt the framing from scratch to meet engineering specs. That matters - not just for passing inspection, but for making sure the wall actually does its job long-term. Once the framing was solid, we wrapped the entire exterior with Typar house wrap before the new siding went on. That layer is important. It keeps moisture from getting behind the new siding and causing problems down the road. New windows went in, new LP siding was installed course by course, and the porch columns were reset cleanly alongside the fresh exterior work. What you end up with is a home that looks - and more importantly, performs - like the damage never happened. That's the goal every time. The homeowners didn't just get their wall back. They got a structure they can trust, finished to the same standard as the rest of the house. This is the kind of job that requires both emergency response and real construction knowledge. Not every contractor handles both. We do, and we take that seriously from the first call to the final course of siding.

Full Fire Damage Repair Framing Siding and Soffit Rebuild

Fire damage is one of those situations where cutting corners isn't an option. The structure has to be right. The moisture barrier has to be right. And the finished exterior has to blend in so well that it doesn't look like a repair at all. That's exactly what we set out to do on this job. We started from the framing out. Once the damaged structure was addressed, we got sheathing prepped and installed Tyvek housewrap across the affected sections - front and rear of the house. The housewrap step is one people don't always think about, but it's what keeps water and air from working their way behind the siding long after the job is done. Skip it or do it sloppy and you're setting the homeowner up for problems down the road. From there we moved into window and door installation, then lap siding to match what was already on the home. Getting the profile and reveal right on the new siding so it lines up cleanly with the existing courses - that's the part that separates a repair that looks like a patch from one that looks like it was always there. We also handled soffit repairs and replacement where the fire had done damage up along the roofline. This kind of job pulls together a lot of what we do - structural framing work, exterior repairs, and the finish detail that makes it look right when it's all said and done. Every step feeds into the next. If the framing isn't solid, the siding won't sit right. If the housewrap isn't done properly, even perfect siding won't protect the home the way it should. Fire damage repairs done the right way take time and attention at every stage. We don't rush through the foundational steps just to get to the visible work faster. The goal is always a finished product that holds up - and one the homeowner can feel good about.

Fire Restoration Framing and Structural Rebuild Done Right

Fire restoration work is not like a standard remodel. You are not starting fresh - you are inheriting someone else's disaster. The structure has been through something traumatic, and before a single new board goes in, you have to make the right call on what stays and what goes. That judgment only comes from doing this kind of work over and over again. Here is what we were working with on this one. Fire-damaged framing, charred floor joists, compromised structural members throughout. The kind of scope that looks overwhelming from the outside. But this is exactly where our crew is most comfortable. We know how to read a damaged structure, identify what is still sound, and build a plan that does not cut corners on the stuff that actually matters. The demo and assessment phase is where it all starts. We pulled out what was unsafe - burned joists, damaged subfloor, anything that could not carry a load the way it needs to. Then we got into the framing and structural repairs. New floor joists sistered in alongside the existing framework, fresh subfloor laid down, wall framing re-established. Every piece placed with the next phase of the remodel in mind. What makes this kind of work different is the problem-solving. Fire damage does not hit a house evenly. One section might need a full tear-out while the wall right next to it is totally fine. Our crew knows how to work through that variability without slowing down or making careless decisions just to move fast. That experience - built on years of fire restoration jobs - is what gets a home ready for a real rebuild instead of a patch job. The whole goal is to hand this structure off ready for the next trade. Solid floor, clean framing, nothing hidden that should not be there. Whether the damage is from fire, water, or just years of neglect, we approach every remodel and structural repair the same way - do it right the first time so it does not come back around.

Back-Corner Home Addition Built From the Ground Up

A lot of homeowners want more space but don't want to move. This back-corner addition is a good example of what's possible when you approach it the right way - starting with a solid foundation and working through every layer until it looks like it was always part of the house. We started from scratch on this one. Block foundation walls, pressure-treated sill plates, floor joists packed with insulation before the subfloor even went down. That kind of attention early in the process is what keeps a finished addition from feeling drafty or disconnected from the rest of the home. We used Drymax high-performance OSB for the subfloor and ZIP System sheathing on the roof deck - both are serious upgrades from standard materials and make a real difference in long-term moisture resistance. Once the framing was up, we got into the details. The wall framing tied directly into the existing structure, and the roof was built to match the existing roofline without looking patched on. Tyvek wrap on the exterior walls, new siding, and Jeld-Wen windows rounded out the envelope. Interior divider walls were framed in to give the homeowner usable, defined space rather than one open room. The custom octagonal window on the side wall was one of those small things that makes a big difference. It breaks up what would have been a plain siding face and gives the addition its own character - without clashing with the rest of the house. That's the kind of detail we think about when we're planning a remodel or addition. Function matters, but so does how it looks when it's done. This is a full-scope project - framing, structural work, roofing, siding, windows, insulation, and interior walls. If you're thinking about adding space to your home and want it done right from the foundation up, this is the kind of work we do.

Old Wood Deck Gets a Full Composite Trex Upgrade

The old deck had seen better days. Weathered wood boards, worn railing, and a structure that had been holding on longer than it should. This is one of the most common situations we run into - a deck that isn't totally falling apart, but is past the point where staining or patching makes any real sense. At some point, you're just throwing money at a losing battle. Here's how we approached it. We stripped everything down to the framing, inspected what was there, and kept what was still solid. Where the landing and stairs had deteriorated beyond what we were comfortable leaving in place, we rebuilt those sections from scratch. No shortcuts. The goal was a deck that looks great and holds up for decades - not just a few more seasons. For the new surface, we went with Trex composite decking. It's one of the most trusted names in the composite world for good reason - it handles weather well, it doesn't need annual staining, and it holds its color and texture over time. We added a picture-frame border detail around the perimeter, which gives the whole surface a finished, intentional look that you just don't get with a straight-laid board-to-edge installation. The railing is Westbury aluminum - clean lines, dark finish, and built to last without any of the upkeep that wood railing demands. No painting, no rotting spindles, no wobbling posts. Paired with the composite decking, the whole setup is basically maintenance-free going forward. That's a big deal for a lot of homeowners who are tired of dedicating weekends to deck upkeep every single year. What we ended up with is a solid, sharp-looking outdoor space that the homeowner can actually enjoy instead of worry about. That's what a good deck replacement should do. If your wood deck is showing its age and you're weighing your options, a composite upgrade with aluminum railing is worth a serious look.

Rotting Hillside Stairs Torn Out and Rebuilt From Scratch

Here's what we were working with - a steep backyard hillside with a long run of old railroad tie steps that had seen better days. The wood was dark, rotting, and the steps had started to shift and settle out of level. It wasn't just an eyesore. It was a genuine safety hazard every time someone needed to get up or down that slope. The challenge with a hillside job like this isn't just building stairs - it's building stairs that won't move. Slopes put constant pressure on footings, and if the foundation isn't right, you're right back to the same problem in a few years. So we tore everything out and started from the ground up, digging in and setting the framing the way it needed to be done for this specific grade. We built out the full stringer and post system using treated lumber, setting each section level as we worked our way up the hill. The framing is the part most people never see once the treads go on, but it's where the job is really won or lost. Get that right, and the staircase holds. Cut corners there, and it won't. Once the structure was solid, the treads went on clean and consistent all the way to the top. The finished staircase follows the natural line of the hill, ties into the existing retaining wall at the base, and gives the homeowner a safe, reliable way to move between levels of the yard. That's exactly what this kind of exterior structure work is supposed to do. Not every yard is flat, and not every job fits a standard solution. If you've got a slope, a tricky grade, or an access problem on your property, this is the kind of custom carpentry and exterior structure work we do.

Shed Repair Done Right - Rotted Wood Out, Composite In

This shed had a good bones - but the wood wasn't holding up anymore. The deck boards were gray and cracking, the posts were showing rot at the base, and the trim had that soft, punky feel that tells you water has been winning for a while. Left alone, that kind of damage spreads fast and gets expensive. We pulled everything apart and started fresh where it counted. Rotted trim came off and got replaced with LP engineered trim - the kind that doesn't absorb moisture and won't need replacing again anytime soon. The old deck boards were swapped out for UltraDeck composite, which handles freeze-thaw cycles and daily foot traffic without warping or splitting. New posts went in where the originals had rotted through at the base. We also ran new skirting across the front to close off the gap at the bottom of the porch. It's a small detail, but it keeps pests out and gives the whole front face a clean, finished look. Everything ties together now instead of looking patched. This is the kind of work that sits right in our wheelhouse - exterior structures, deck work, and handyman repairs that go beyond slapping a coat of paint on the problem. We dig into what's actually failing and fix it the right way, with materials built to last. A shed like this is worth saving. Replacing it costs a lot more than repairing it - and when the repair is done with quality materials and solid craftsmanship, you're not just buying time. You're buying years.

Fire-Damaged Garage Torn Down and Rebuilt from the Foundation

Fire damage is one of those situations where there's no patching things up and calling it good. When fire gets into the framing, you're dealing with compromised structural integrity - and in a garage attached to a home, that's not something you can ignore. This one had to come all the way down to the foundation slab. Every stick of burned framing had to go. Demo on a job like this requires real care. The garage shared a wall with the main home, so we had to work methodically to protect the connected structure throughout the teardown. Nothing rushed. Nothing sloppy. The existing foundation was solid, so we worked off that and started fresh from the ground up. New wall framing went up, followed by an LVL header across the garage opening - that's a laminated veneer lumber beam engineered specifically to carry heavy loads over wide spans. It's the right call here, not the cheap one. Roof trusses came next, then roof decking, with Tyvek house wrap going on the exterior walls to keep everything protected while the rest of the build progressed. Inside, you can see the drywall going up on the ceiling and walls, with the mud work well underway. This is the kind of framing and structural repair work that has to be done right the first time. There's no cosmetic fix for fire damage at this level. The rebuild needs to match or exceed the original construction - and that's exactly the standard we hold ourselves to on every job like this. If your home has taken serious damage - fire, storm, or otherwise - the path forward starts with getting the structural work handled by people who know what they're doing. A proper rebuild protects your home, your family, and your investment for the long haul.

9 Pella Windows and a Sliding Door Replaced the Right Way

Most window replacements are done as inserts - meaning the new window gets dropped into the existing frame. It's faster and cheaper. But it also means you're keeping the old frame, the old flashing, and any rot or moisture damage hiding underneath. That's exactly the kind of shortcut we don't take. On this job, we pulled all 9 windows and the sliding door completely, then cut back the siding to do a true new-construction install. That means fresh flashing, a proper seal around every opening, and no old material left behind to cause problems down the road. It's more work up front - but it's the only way to actually protect the home long-term. We went with Pella products throughout. Good frames, solid glass packages, and they hold up. The sliding door got the same treatment as everything else - cut back to bare framing, set clean, and sealed properly before any finishing work went on. Nothing was rushed or patched over. This kind of work falls squarely in our wheelhouse as a general contracting team. It's not just swapping glass - it's understanding how a wall assembly works and making sure every piece of it is tight before you button it back up. Better efficiency, better weather protection, and a finished look that holds up for years. Whether you've got one bad window or a whole house that needs updating, the installation method matters just as much as the product you pick. We'll always tell you what the job actually needs - not just the easiest path to get it done.

Full Storm Damage Restoration That Kept the Home's Original Character

Storm damage has a way of hitting multiple systems at once. One event and suddenly you're looking at blown-out siding, lifted fascia, compromised roof decking, and cracked drywall inside - all at the same time. That's exactly what this homeowner was dealing with, and getting it all handled under one roof - with one crew coordinating directly with the insurance adjuster - made a massive difference. We started on the exterior. The siding had taken a serious hit, with sections cracked, separated, and pulled away from the sheathing. We stripped back the damaged runs, replaced what needed to go, and re-sided the affected areas to match the existing profile. New windows went in at the same time, properly framed and sealed before the siding was buttoned up around them. The fascia work followed, along with the roof repairs where the decking had been damaged and needed new sheathing and shingles. Inside, the storm had worked its way through - drywall cracked near window openings from the structural movement and water intrusion. We replaced the drywall, taped, mudded, and got it ready for paint. The bathroom window area was one of the spots that needed the most attention, and the finish on those interior window surrounds came out clean. New stained wood casing around the replaced windows kept everything consistent with the character of the home. What mattered most to this homeowner was that the house looked like itself when we were done - not like it had been patched together. That's a goal we take seriously on every storm restoration we do. When the work is complete, the exterior reads as one cohesive surface, the interior walls are smooth and painted out, and nothing looks like a repair. That's the standard we hold ourselves to. Storm damage jobs like this one touch almost every trade - framing, siding, roofing, windows, drywall, and paint. Having a general contractor who can manage all of it and communicate with your insurance company directly means less stress for you and a better outcome overall. If your home has taken storm damage and you're figuring out next steps, this is the kind of work we do every day.

40x60 Pole Barn Build Done Right from the Ground Up

This one started as an empty field with a grid of post holes and a pile of lumber. That's it. No shortcuts, no pre-fab shortcuts - just solid post-frame construction built the right way from day one. Every post set, every truss placed, every piece of framing tied in with the kind of attention that holds up for decades. Post-frame building is one of the most efficient ways to get a large, functional structure up on a property. The structural system relies on deeply set posts as the primary load-bearing element, which means you get massive open interior spans without interior columns eating up your usable space. For a 40x60 building, that's 2,400 square feet of open floor that the owner can actually use. Once the frame was up and the trusses were set, the metal roofing went on first - protecting everything underneath while the walls came together. The wainscoting detail along the base of the building was a nice touch. It adds a layer of protection against moisture and impact at the lower wall, and it gives the exterior a clean, finished look that sets it apart from a basic box. The two-tone finish - deep red siding up top with a charcoal gray wainscot band - gave the building real curb appeal. Two oversized roll-up doors, a service door, and windows across the front face make it as functional as it looks sharp. This is the kind of build our general contracting crew takes seriously from the first post hole to the final piece of tin. Every job like this is a chance to do something we're genuinely proud of. A structure this size has to be built right - the framing, the structural layout, the finish details all matter. When it all comes together the way this one did, it's hard not to feel good about the work.

Custom Backyard Shed Built From the Ground Up

A lot of homeowners think about adding a shed for years before they actually do it. The stuff piles up in the garage, the lawn equipment has no real home, and the idea of a dedicated workspace stays just that - an idea. This is what we love solving. We handled every single phase of this build ourselves. It started with a gravel base and pressure-treated floor framing, which is exactly how you want a shed to start. Skipping that step is one of the biggest mistakes people make with outdoor structures - moisture wrecks a wood floor fast when it doesn't have proper drainage underneath it. From there, we went straight into the structural framing. Walls went up panel by panel, OSB sheathing locked everything in square, and the roof framing came together with a clean pitch that sheds water the way it should. That's the part most people never see - but it's the part that determines how long a structure actually lasts. Once the bones were solid, we moved into the finish work. Board-and-batten style siding, a real operable window with a white trim surround, a solid door with heavy-duty strap hinges, a vent up top for airflow, and pressure-treated skirt boards along the base to tie the whole thing together cleanly. This isn't a kit shed. Every piece of it was cut and built on site. Whether you need straight-up storage, a workshop, or something a little more personal - we build it all the same way. Solid framing, real materials, finished the right way.

28-Year-Old Shed Gets New Siding, Trim and Bottom Plate

Here's the thing about rot - it doesn't stop. What starts as soft wood at the base of your shed quietly spreads upward, and by the time you notice it, you're not dealing with a small fix anymore. That's exactly what we found on this 28-year-old shed. The bottom plate had rotted through, the siding was failing, and the trim had warped. Left alone, the whole structure would have eventually followed. We stripped the siding off completely so we could see exactly what we were working with. The framing was exposed and we could see firsthand how far the damage had gone. Before anything new went on, we rebuilt the rotted bottom plate using treated lumber - the kind that's built to handle ground-level moisture long-term. That's the fix that actually matters. New siding and trim over a rotted base would have been a waste of everyone's time and money. Once the foundation of the structure was solid again, we replaced the failing siding panels and warped trim to match. We also built a new door from scratch. The old double doors were done. The new single door is solid, properly hung, and fits clean in the opening. It's the kind of thing you don't think about until you're fighting a door that won't latch or sits crooked in the frame. A shed that's been standing for nearly three decades has earned its keep. The goal here wasn't to make it look pretty - it was to make sure it's structurally sound for the next stretch of years. Replacing siding and a bottom plate is a fraction of what a full shed replacement costs. That's the argument for catching this stuff early. We handle this kind of exterior structure work regularly - sheds, fences, decks, you name it. If you've got a shed that's showing signs of rot at the base or siding that's starting to buckle and peel, it's worth getting eyes on it sooner rather than later.

Full Bathroom Remodel Taken Down to the Studs

Here's what we were starting with - a dated bathroom that hadn't been touched in decades. Dolphin wallpaper border, old single-sink vanity, worn-out tile, and a tub surround that had run its course. When these new homeowners came to us, they didn't want a patch job. They wanted the whole thing done right. So we went all the way down to the studs. Every surface came out. New plumbing rough-in, new backer board, new everything. That's the only way to know what you're working with behind the walls - and to make sure the finished product actually holds up long-term. No shortcuts. The tub surround went in with vertically stacked tile and a built-in niche - a small detail that makes a big practical difference when you're not dealing with a wire rack falling off a wall every week. The bronze hardware ties it all together and gives the whole space a warm, finished look that feels intentional rather than random. On the vanity side, we replaced the old single-sink setup with a double vanity - wood-toned cabinetry, marble-look countertop, and dual bronze faucets. Two sinks in a shared bathroom is one of those upgrades that sounds simple but genuinely changes how the space functions every single morning. The checkered floor tile pulls the whole design together without trying too hard. Every piece of this remodel - tile, plumbing, cabinetry, lighting, hardware, finishing trim - was handled by our crew start to finish. That's how you get a result that actually feels cohesive. No handoffs, no miscommunication between trades, no waiting around. Just one team seeing it through from demo to the last towel bar on the wall.

Patio Door Installation Done Right - Framing Corrections Included

A patio door installation looks simple from the outside. Clean frame, fresh door, done. But what you can't see from the finished exterior is what made this job worth doing correctly - the framing behind it. We were called in after someone else had already roughed in the opening. The problem was the structural support wasn't right. An opening like this in an exterior wall carries load. It needs a properly sized header, correctly placed king studs and jack studs, and a rough opening built to spec. Without that, you're hanging a door in a wall that isn't doing its job - and over time, that causes real problems. Sticking doors, cracked drywall, and in worse cases, structural movement you don't notice until it's a much bigger fix. So before the new sliding door went in, we pulled things apart and reframed the opening the right way. New framing, proper support, everything built the way it should have been from the start. Only then did the door go in. That's not extra work for the sake of it - that's just what it takes to do the job correctly. The finished result looks exactly like you'd expect a patio door to look. Tight fit, clean install, opens to the deck without issue. That's the point. When the structural work is done right, the finish work takes care of itself. The door sits straight because the opening is built straight. It's that straightforward. This is the kind of work we do on every job - framing and structural repairs aren't a side service, they're often the foundation of getting everything else right. If you've got a door, window, or opening that was installed without proper structural attention, it's worth having someone take a look before the finish work covers it up for good.

Deck Replacement Uncovered Serious Rot and Structural Damage

What looks like a simple deck replacement can turn into something much bigger once you start pulling things apart. That's exactly what happened here. The old deck came off, and what we found underneath was a rim joist that had been rotting for years - completely compromised and soft all the way through. The kind of damage that doesn't show up until you're already into the job. The rot had worked its way into the framing behind the wall, right below the sliding door. We're talking about structural wood that's supposed to support the weight of the home's floor system. When that goes bad, it's not something you patch over. We pulled all of it out - damaged rim joist, deteriorated framing, anything that wasn't solid. Then we checked the sill plate to make sure the damage hadn't spread further than what was visible. Once the bad material was out, we got to work on the repair. Fresh insulation went back in where it had been exposed. Then we installed new pressure-treated lumber - the right material for this location since it's going to be up against concrete and exposed to moisture. Before anything got buttoned up, we ran house wrap and proper flashing across the entire opening. That step is what keeps water from getting back in and starting the whole process over again. This is the part of a deck project that most homeowners never see - and the part that matters most. A new deck surface on top of a rotted structure isn't a repair, it's a cover-up. Our framing and structural repair work makes sure the bones of the home are solid before anything else gets built on top of them. The finished deck will come next, but only because the foundation underneath it is now done right. Every job like this is a reminder that hidden damage is real. If your deck is older or you've noticed soft spots, staining near the ledger, or gaps between your siding and the deck frame, it's worth having someone take a closer look before the problem gets bigger.

Rusted Front Entry Railing Replaced With Westbury Aluminum

A rusted front entry railing is one of those things that sneaks up on you. It starts as a cosmetic issue - a little discoloration, some flaking paint - and then one day you grab it on the way up the steps and it just doesn't feel right anymore. That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The old railing had rust bleeding down onto the stoop and offered questionable support at best. We went with a Westbury aluminum handrail system for this one. Aluminum is the right call for an entry like this - it doesn't rust, holds up to weather without needing to be repainted every couple of years, and looks sharp against a brick exterior. The matte black finish ties the whole entry together in a way the old railing never did. The scope wasn't just a simple swap on the stoop. The new railing runs the full length of the walkway from the driveway all the way up to the front door, with the stoop wrapped for support on both sides. Every post is set level and anchored solid - we're using a level on every section, not just eyeballing it. The balusters are evenly spaced and the whole system sits flush and clean on the concrete. This kind of work sits right in the middle of what we do day to day. Whether it's exterior structures, entry upgrades, or handyman-level fixes that have bigger safety implications than they first appear - we treat every detail the same way. A railing that looks good and holds firm isn't a luxury, it's just what the job should look like when it's done right. What you end up with here is an entry that actually works for the people using it. Solid grip coming up from the driveway, continuous support all the way to the door, and a finished look that holds up long-term without ongoing maintenance headaches.

Tornado Restoration Uncovers Severe Termite Damage in Elkhorn

This one started as tornado restoration. But once we opened things up on this Elkhorn home, it became a very different job. What we found hiding behind the siding and under the floor system was severe termite damage - eaten-through rim joists, compromised sill plates, and framing members that had been hollowed out from the inside. The kind of damage you'd never know was there just by looking at the outside of the house. That's the thing about termite damage. It doesn't announce itself. A house can look totally fine from the curb while the structural framing underneath is being eaten away. In this case, the tornado actually did the homeowner a favor - it forced us to open up walls and floors that would've otherwise stayed closed for years. Once we got everything stripped back, we could see the full picture. The rim joist along the foundation wall was nearly gone in spots. We pulled all of it - every piece that was compromised - and replaced it with solid new lumber. New sill plates, new rim joists, new subfloor sheathing laid tight and fastened properly. No shortcuts. If we're putting a house back together, we're putting it back together right. The framing and structural repair side of this job was just as important as anything else. Getting the bones solid again before any siding, insulation, or drywall goes back up - that's the only way to do it. Covering up bad framing with fresh materials just delays the problem. We don't work that way. If your home took storm damage - or if you've got soft floors, sagging walls, or anything else that's felt off for a while - it might be worth having someone take a closer look. Hidden damage is always cheaper to fix when you catch it early.

Living Room Wainscoting That Takes a Plain Wall to Polished

A flat, blank wall is one of those things that's easy to overlook - until you see what it looks like with wainscoting done right. That was the starting point here. Four walls of bare drywall, nothing going on below the chair rail line, no real character to speak of. We came in and changed that completely. Before we cut a single panel, we mapped out the layout. That's the part most people don't think about - but it's everything. If you just start nailing panels and work your way around the room, you end up with one awkward skinny panel crammed into a corner. We used a laser level to keep things perfectly plumb and planned the panel spacing so each wall feels intentional and balanced from end to end. The result is a room that has real structure to it now. The wainscoting wraps the entire space with clean, evenly spaced raised panels and a crisp chair rail running all the way around. It completely changes how the room feels - more finished, more put-together. That's what good trim work does. It adds a layer of detail that makes everything else in the room look better too. This kind of work falls right in line with what we do every day - interior remodels and handyman services where the details actually matter. Getting the panel layout symmetrical all the way around a room isn't a shortcut kind of job. It takes planning, patience, and a willingness to do it right instead of just fast. That's the difference between a result that looks custom and one that just looks added-on. Whether you've got one accent wall in mind or want to do a full room like this, wainscoting is one of the better investments you can make in a living space. It holds up, it photographs well, and it genuinely changes how a room feels the moment you walk in.

Commercial Fire Damage Restoration With Full Reframe and New Roof

Fire damage on a commercial building is one of those situations where you can't cut corners. The structure has to come all the way back - from the bones out. That's exactly what this job called for. The existing roof framing was compromised beyond repair, so we stripped it out and started fresh with all-new trusses and framing throughout the main section of the building. The crane work alone tells you something about the scale here. Pulling out the old, fire-charred truss sections and setting new engineered trusses in their place isn't a small-crew weekend job. It takes coordination, the right equipment, and people who know structural framing inside and out. Once the new trusses were set and the framing was solid, we installed a tin roof to close the building in and protect everything underneath. The barrel roof section was its own challenge. That curved geometry requires a different approach than a standard pitched roof - the framing has to follow the arc precisely, and the sheathing has to conform to it cleanly. We rebuilt that section from scratch, sheeted it with plywood, and got it ready for waterproofing. That's the kind of detail work that matters if you want the finished product to hold up long-term. On the interior, the OSB ceiling installation was the final step to get the building fully closed in. Working off scissor lifts to fasten panel after panel overhead is slow, careful work. But it's what takes a structure from "open to the elements" to ready for the next phase of interior buildout. Our general contracting approach means we're managing all of these moving pieces together - framing, roofing, and interior - without the owner having to juggle multiple contractors. Fire damage restoration on a commercial property is stressful. Property owners are dealing with insurance claims, lost revenue, and the pressure to get back up and running. Having one crew that can handle the full structural scope - from pulling burned trusses to installing a finished ceiling - makes a real difference in how smoothly that process goes.

Full Front Porch Rebuild From the Footings Up

A failing porch is more than an eyesore. When the decking is rotted through, the framing is shot, and the structure underneath has completely given way, it becomes a real safety hazard - one that gets worse the longer it sits. That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The before shots tell the whole story. Severely deteriorated decking, peeling paint down to bare wood, crumbling porch skirting, and a foundation pier that had clearly been failing for a long time. There were actual gaps in the floor. The old structure had nothing left to give. Patching it wasn't an option - this one needed to come all the way down. We started from scratch. New footings, new structural posts set in concrete, treated framing throughout, and fresh decking boards laid clean and tight across the full width of the porch. We also built out both stairways - one on each side - and installed solid wood railings to bring everything up to where it should be. Every piece of lumber is pressure-treated, which matters a lot for a covered front porch that still sees moisture and humidity. What we ended up with is a porch that's actually safe to walk on, looks sharp from the street, and is built to hold up for years. It went from being a liability to being one of the best-looking features on the front of the house. That's the kind of difference a full structural rebuild makes - not a quick patch, but a real fix done right. If your porch has soft spots, sagging boards, shaky railings, or anything that just doesn't feel right underfoot, don't wait on it. These things don't get better on their own.

Worn-Out Deck Gets a Full Rebuild with Trex Composite and Privacy Walls

The old deck here had run its course. It wasn't safe, it wasn't attractive, and it definitely wasn't doing this backyard any favors. These homeowners had a pool, a hot tub, a fire pit area - a whole outdoor setup that deserved a real anchor. What they had instead was a worn-out structure that was holding everything back. We started from scratch. The old framing came out completely, and we rebuilt it the right way - fresh pressure-treated framing, properly spaced joists, solid footings. That's the part nobody sees, but it's the part that makes everything above it last. We don't cut corners on what's underneath because that's exactly where problems start. For the surface, we went with Trex Select in Pebble Gray. It's a clean, neutral tone that works with just about any furniture or color scheme - and it won't rot, splinter, or need to be stained every couple of years. The deck steps down to a concrete pad, which gives a natural transition from the deck surface to the surrounding gravel and landscaping. On both sides of the hot tub area, we added dark privacy walls that screen the space from neighboring yards and give the whole setup a much more finished, enclosed feel. What we ended up with is a backyard that actually functions as an outdoor living space. There's dedicated room for dining, lounging, the hot tub - all of it laid out on a surface that's going to hold up year after year without much maintenance at all. That's the real sell with composite decking. You stop thinking about the deck and start just using it. Projects like this are exactly what we do - full deck rebuilds, composite installations, privacy structures. If your current deck is looking rough or just isn't working for how you use your backyard, this is what the other side of that problem looks like.

Fire Damage Framing Repair and Siding Rebuild After Chimney Chase Fire

Chimney fires don't always stay in the chimney. When a chimney chase fire spreads into the wall cavity, it can quietly destroy the framing behind the siding - and you won't see it until someone opens things up. That's exactly what we found on this job. The damage went well beyond the firebox. We started by tearing everything out - the old fireplace, the damaged framing, and all the compromised material around the chase. The charred studs and scorched framing members had to go completely. There's no patching that kind of structural damage. Once we had it down to solid material, we could actually see the full scope of what the fire had done, and we rebuilt from there. The wall system got a full reset. We used ZIP System sheathing and Foamular insulating panels throughout the rebuild, which gives this wall a much tighter building envelope than what was there originally. House wrap went up over the new chimney chase framing before anything else closed in. Every layer of the assembly was done right before moving on to the next one - that's the only way to do fire damage repair correctly. Once the structure was solid and the wall system was properly detailed, we installed new siding across the entire elevation. The finished result looks clean and consistent with the rest of the house. No trace of what was behind it. But more importantly, the framing is new, the sheathing is new, and the whole assembly is built to last. Fire damage has a way of hiding. If your home had a chimney fire - even one that seemed minor - it's worth having someone take a real look at the framing behind the wall. Hidden damage doesn't get better on its own. We handle exactly this kind of structural repair and remodel work, and we're not afraid to dig in when the situation calls for it.

West Omaha Primary Bath Gets a Full Layout Overhaul

This one started with a bathroom that just wasn't working anymore. Dark walls, a cramped shower hidden behind a curtain, a soaking tub eating up prime real estate, and a layout that made the whole space feel chopped up and tight. The vanity area was cluttered, the lighting was dim, and there was no real flow between the shower, toilet, and closet. Sound familiar? We stripped it back to the studs - and we mean completely. New framing, new plumbing runs, new electrical. That kind of gut job is what lets you actually fix the layout instead of just putting new finishes on top of old problems. We also built out a proper shower enclosure from scratch, including a full waterproof liner system at the base before a single tile went up. The finished shower is a serious upgrade. Large-format vertical tile on the walls, a built-in niche, a full bench, penny tile on the floor, and a frameless sliding glass door. Brass hardware and a rain head with a hand shower round it out. The toilet got its own private water closet with dedicated lighting - no more shared open space. And the custom walk-in closet got a complete built-in system with glass-front upper cabinets, open shelving, drawers, and a center island. Everything has a place now. The double vanity runs the full length of one wall with white shaker cabinetry, quartz countertops, and individual brass faucets at each sink. Two large frameless mirrors, one per sink, and brass sconce lighting flanking each one. The vaulted ceiling got a statement chandelier that anchors the whole room. LVT flooring ties it all together and holds up to daily wear without fuss. A pocket door was added to improve flow and eliminate the awkward swing clearance of a standard door. This is what a full bathroom remodel actually looks like when you plan it right from day one. Not just new finishes - a completely rethought space that works the way a primary bath should. If your bathroom feels like it's fighting you every morning, we can help with that.
